750 TL Additional Fee to be Charged in Land Registry Transactions: New Regulation Submitted to Parliament
A new draft regulation to increase the revenues of the Defense Industry Fund has been submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). This regulation envisages the introduction of new fees for title deed transactions in real estate sales. If the new regulation becomes law, an additional fee of 750 TL will be charged separately from the buyer and seller in the purchase and sale of real estate. According to the news in Türkiye Newspaper, this proposal has been submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey under the title of “Law on Certain Arrangements Regarding the Defense Industry and the Proposal for the Amendment of Certain Laws”.
New Fees in Land Registry Transactions
The regulation introduces an additional financial obligation for land registry and cadastre procedures in real estate purchases and sales. According to the regulation, 750 TL will be collected from both the buyer and the seller in real estate sales. For other transactions carried out at the land registry, a fee of 375 TL will be charged on behalf of the person to whom the transaction is made. These fees will be used to fund the Defense Industry Support Fund (SSDF).
Payments will be made to the Tax Office
These fees will be paid to the tax office before the title deed transactions. If the payment is not made, title deed transactions will not be realized. If the conditions specified during the transaction are violated, the officials who carry out the transaction and the persons who are obliged to pay will be held jointly and severally liable.
