While Mortgaged Purchases Decline in Housing Sales, Total Sales Increase! 

While an increase was observed in house sales in Turkey in February, it was determined that there was a serious decline in mortgaged house purchases. We observe significant declines in mortgaged house sales in major cities such as Istanbul, Ankara and Antalya and we see that this trend is widespread across Turkey.

Shrinkage in Credit Channels and Interest Rate Increase Affect! 
The narrowing of credit channels, interest rate hikes and the rise in construction costs have led to a serious decline in the affordability of housing prices. While this situation reduces the demand for home ownership with loans, it makes it difficult to own a house, especially for middle and low-income groups.

Especially the Decline in Mortgage Sales! 
In various provinces, mortgaged house sales have declined significantly. For example, 1 house in Ardahan and 2 houses in Bitlis were sold with mortgages. Similarly, a decrease from 161 to 40 in Çorum, from 122 to 38 in Bolu and 49.4 percent in Antalya was observed.
